dux stands for Disk Usage eXtended. It is a Mac app that shows where your disk space goes and how much space a cleanup really frees.
What dux does
- Shows where the space is. A sunburst, a treemap and a list, with clones, hard links and packages explained instead of counted twice.
- Ranks what you can free. Every suggestion has a plain reason, a safety level and the space it truly frees.
- Never moves a file before you review it. Files go to the Trash, become clones, or stay safe in the cloud. Nothing is deleted straight away, and a cleanup can be undone from Activity. The few actions that can’t be undone say so before they run.
- Stays on your Mac. No account, no analytics, no upload of file names. Read more on privacy and safety.
dux is free and complete. Pro adds extras such as full history, scheduled scans and the menu bar extra. Business adds managed settings and disk reporting for Mac fleets. There is also a command line tool for developers and admins.
